Several passenger trains delayed due to farmers' agitation

A number of passenger trains were today delayed for several hours, owing to an agitation by farmers at Barhiya and Tall stations in division of East Central Railway.

The trains were detained at different stations of and divisions of Eastern Railway and in division of E C Railway, owing to blockade of railway tracks at the two stations, an Eastern Railway said.

The agitators blocked tracks at Barhiya from 8.31 am and Tall from 9.55 am.

The agitation at Barhiya was withdrawn at 1.35 pm and Tall at 2.40 pm, he said.

Surat Express and 12367 up Vikramsila Express are among the mail and express trains detained en route, due to the agitation, the said.

The 13419 up BhagalpurMuzaffarpur Jansewa Express scheduled to leave Bhagalpur at 14.05 pm has been cancelled, he added.
