Manchester United are understood to be keen on signing Ronaldo this summer.
The Portugal international quit United for Real Madrid in 2009 and has since become one of the best players on the planet.
He confirmed after Real’s Champions League final victory on Saturday that he may leave the Bernabeu club this summer.
But La Liga president Javier Tebas says that wouldn’t be a problem and reckons Spain’s top flight can compete with the Premier League without the global superstar’s pulling power.
"Well, I think it's nothing more than another chapter," he said.

Cristiano Ronaldo leaving, five years ago, would have worried me much more
"I've heard so many times that he wants to go, that he's staying, that they're negotiating... He'll be playing for Real Madrid next year, I think.
"Cristiano Ronaldo leaving, five years ago, would have worried me much more. Not now, because we have worked on the [LaLiga] brand.
"Now I can't even remember when the last time a Premier League player won the Ballon d'Or and they are on top, why can't we do the same?”

Tebas went on to suggest Neymar is the man La Liga want as the marketable face of modern football.
"Cristiano is irreplaceable. With Neymar, LaLiga would win whether Cristiano is here too, he's a standard bearer for LaLiga,” he added.
