SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2018 enhanced with stronger content

SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2018 (“SIMA ASEAN”), the Southeast Asian agri-business show, is all set to open the doors on 6 June 2018, at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

Commenting on the fourth edition of SIMA ASEAN Thailand, Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., said, “Knowledge is the core of SIMA ASEAN, to capitalize on the rapid developments of the agri-business industry. We’re excited to organize various conferences and seminars with various organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (“MOAC”), to provide updates and knowledge to both international and Thai visitors.”

Adapting King Rama IX’s Philosophy and the Agricultural Innovation

“With the purpose of supporting Thai farmers, MOAC is glad to be the co-host of SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2018. The twelve departments of MOAC are working closely to present the theme, Adapting King Rama IX’s Philosophy and Agricultural Innovation,” shared Mr. Lertviroj Kowattana, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) is organizing three show features to help Thai farmers gain new knowledge, keep up with new technology such as automatic machinery and to connect farmers to the international market:

  • The National Farmers Forum features an intense two-day seminar covering key topics pertaining to the agriculture industry. These key topics include:
    - New technology in machinery for Sugar cane;
    - Transformation towards sustainability with livestock 4.0; and
    - “Khok Nhong Nha”, a King Rama IX Farm Management Project applying lessons learnt from King Rama IX, to land and water usage for farms. Honorary speaker includes Mr. Wiwat Salyakamthorn, Deputy Minister, MOAC.
  • Machinery Showcase covering 972sqm, displays technology usage in the agriculture industry, with drones, artificial intelligence, mobile applications among others.
  • The Cooperative Union Pavilion features unions from the Thai provinces and covering key production areas including rice, dairy, rubber, coffee and fruit.

    Education at the core of agriculture

    SIMA ASEAN focuses on partnering with relevant organizations to bring updated content to the agriculture industry. The following conferences and seminars will be held at SIMA ASEAN:

  • National Farmers Forum, hosted by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives;
  • Adapting The King’s Philosophy To Help Farmers, hosted by Royal Thai Air Force;
  • Agriculture Eco Tourism For The New Generation, hosted by Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operative;
  • Let’s Become A Smart Farmer, hosted by Kehakaset
