noon, the digital marketplace created in the region, for the region and powered by the region’s leading retailers, is now giving customers the opportunity to donate to the Dar Al Ber Scholarships Programme upon checkout on desktop, mobile and the Android application.
In the spirit of giving, noon will be matching every customer’s donation during the Blessed Month of Ramadan to raise as much funding as possible. All the proceeds will go towards the Dar Al Ber’s Scholarships Programme supporting education and students in the UAE in need of academic financial aid. The initiative is in support of the Year of Zayed, and commemorates the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s emphasis on charity to those in need, with a particular focus on education since it is the basis for a society’s social and economic prosperity.
Donations to Dar Al Ber through noon is straightforward and can be completed with a click of a button. Customers shopping on noon will pick their items as usual, and just before payment, they can select the option of donating from AED 5 up to AED 50 to Dar Al Ber, which will be added to their total bill. The charitable donation is non-refundable.
Faraz Khalid, CEO of noon, said: “noon has a strong regional focus, especially with regards to nurturing the talents and capabilities of our youth. Our partnership with Dar Al Ber enables us to extend charitable outreach to our customers and expand the circle of support for students in need. At noon we work with youth from the region, and we strongly believe they are by far the most important resource that will drive regional growth, so any support we can facilitate for them is not only valuable, but also an honour. Many people underestimate the impact of a small contribution, which in fact can be life-changing, and we encourage our customers to contribute, especially to honour the Year of Zayed.”
Created for the region, in the region and backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and a group of prominent Gulf investors, noon is an ideal fit for the digital-first preferences and aspirations of the region’s youth.
