FORECAST IN DETAIL
For much of the week, we’re stuck in a sticky, summerlike weather pattern. It’s humid and temperatures are a bit higher than normal. With all the moisture, we’ll have chances for showers and storms. But, although rain is frequently in the forecast, more often than not it may turn out dry, as any showers tend to be widely scattered rather than widespread.

Today (Memorial Day): Skies are mostly cloudy today and light breezes come in from the east, meaning cooler temperatures compared to the weekend. We can’t rule out a shower, especially in our southern areas, but we should be mostly dry. Highs are within a few degrees of 80. Medium-High
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Evening grilling weather is good, with temperatures in the 70s. Overnight we dip into the mid-60s in our cooler areas to near 70 downtown. Medium-High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): We have a bit more sunshine and winds from the south — which mean a very warm and humid day. Highs reach the mid- to upper 80s. Models don’t show much in the way of showers and storms, but a few pop-ups can’t be ruled out, given the muggy air. Medium-High
Tomorrow night: Partly to mostly cloudy and mild. Overnight lows are near 70. Medium-High
A LOOK AHEAD
Wednesday through Friday we’re still in this stagnant weather pattern with very warm and humid conditions and the chance for late-day showers and storms. While we’ll have to watch what happens with the remnants of Tropical Storm Alberto early on in this period, its remnants should remain well to our west. Still, some tropical moisture may stream over our region, especially Wednesday, when the chance of showers and storms is highest. Highs are near 80 Wednesday, when we may have more clouds, and into the mid- to upper 80s Thursday and Friday. Lows are generally near 70. Medium
By the weekend, we may be in between weather systems, with winds coming in from the north. This may allow humidity to ease some and rain chances to diminish. I’ll call for partly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s Saturday and near 80 Sunday. Lows should mostly be in the 60s. Low-Medium
