Janet Lucille Shoop, 77, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. She was born September 14, 1940, in Sewickley, daughter of the late Clyde and Kathryn (Kundla) Myers. Janet was a faithful and active member of the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, Aliquippa, where she enjoyed teaching Bible school during the summer. She was a member of the Conway Bowling League, was a Big Sister, and a member of her neighborhood card club and knitting club. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by a sister, Shirlee Coons. She is survived by her husband, James Shoop, with whom she would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on August 6, 2018; two daughters, Kelly Holtzman, Center Twp., and Barbara Jahoda and her husband Stephen, Aliquippa; two grandchildren, Christopher Holtzman and Evan Prox, Center Twp.; her very dear cousin, who was much more like a sister, Joyce Cable, and two wonderful friends who assisted in a variety of supportive ways with her care, Dawn Damacio and Anna Depner. In honor of her wishes, a private service was held at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC. with entombment in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum on Monday, May 21, 2018.
