SURAT: Giriraj Singh, Union minister of state (independent charge) for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), said Narendra Modi government attaches lots of importance to the MSMEs that were the backbone of the economy.

“Many people are trying to tarnish country’s image saying that the Modi government has failed to generate jobs for youths. The fact is we have created lots of employment in the country by developing the MSMEs,” he said.

Singh was the chief guest at a function of SGCCI where Hetal Mehta and Ketan Desai were appointed as the new president and vice-president of SGCCI, respectively.
