Sign impales truck after driver dozes off in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON CO., Mo. – A driver is lucky to walk away with only minor injuries after he fell asleep at the wheel.

Police said the 74-year-old took out three road signs after falling asleep on southbound Highway 67.

One of the signs went through the cab of his truck.

The driver suffered minor injuries to his face.

Police said things could have been far worse if someone was riding in the back since that's where one of the signs wound up.
