Mayawati: Countdown for Govt's departure has begun

Claiming that the count down has started for the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati said that everything historic has been done in this four years of the NDA regime with masses problem also rose to historic height.

“This government has failed on all fronts. PM Narendra Modi terms everything he does as historic, I think that is why fuel prices are at a historic high during his government while the atrocities on dalits and other communities, rise in unemployment and poverty were historic too in this regime,” she charged. She said that the Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre was on the verge of collapse and the count down has already started as several of its coalition partners have started deserting them.

Addressing the media just before her crucial national executive meeting, here on Saturday, Mayawati claimed that Narendra Modi government is a failed government. “In true sense jungle raj prevailed in the BJP rule in the country,” she further alleged. However during his speech, Mayawati also hinted that today’s meeting would be an important one for the Party as there would be change in the Party’s constitution. The meeting will also discuss about the coming assembly elections in some states and to fix the strategy for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“During 4 years corruption has increased, people burdened by increasing prices, jobless and hollow growth besides demonetization and GST implementation was done without any preparation leading to backwardness of the country,” she said.”The youths, farmers, laborers and even section of the society has been affected in this regime,” she added. “This NDA government has only benefited some handful of industrialists while dictatorship rule has hit the democratic set up of the country,” she said.

Hitting out at the BJP for spending million of rupees on celebrating the fourth anniversary of the NDA government in the country, BSP president said,” Narendra Modi has no moral right to spend crores on celebrating 4 years in power. When people of the country are facing several miseries including historic rate of petroleum products, what is the celebration for BJP,” she questioned. She also threatened Modi’s government that if the petroleum prices will be not brought down, her Party would took road to demonstrate against the anti-people policies of the Central Government.
