COIMBATORE: Police officials on Saturday appreciated the honesty of a 60-year-old autorickshaw driver, who handed over a bag containing a digital camera and a laptop that a passenger had left in his vehicle to the assistant commissioner of police (intelligence section).
V
Selvaraj, who was a truck driver, began driving autorickshaw only before four months ago, said a police source. When he returned home from work at 11pm on Thursday, he found a bag in his vehicle. He was not able to hand it over to the police on Friday because of the strike.
On Saturday, Selvaraj came to the commissioner’s office and handed over the valuables to the assistant commissioner of police,
Sounder Rajan, who alerted all the police stations to bring to notice complaints regarding missing of valuables.
