Real Madrid news: Luka Modric makes Champions League ‘dynasty’ claim after Liverpool win
REAL MADRID have built a European dynasty with their third Champions League win in a row similar to that of NBA teams like Michael Jordan’s iconic 1990s Chicago Bulls.

That’s according to Los Blancos midfielder Luka Modric, who played 90 minutes last night as Real saw off Liverpool in Kiev, winning 3-1 thanks to Gareth Bale’s match-winning brace from the bench.
That continued the Spanish giants’ dominance of the competition, claiming it for the 13th time overall and the third in as many years under Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman is one of three total managers to win three European Cups and the first ever coach to claim three in a row.
And Croatian Modric believes this Madrid side are building a long-lasting legacy with their domination of the continental tournament, one that is similar to that of NBA’s greatest ever teams.
“It’s something unbelievable and something historic,” he hailed after Real’s win at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium. “I don’t know if anyone will repeat this in the future.

Twice was something amazing. This is really historic.
“It will be very difficult. Twice was something amazing. This is really historic.
“We watched a movie yesterday about basketball teams like Chicago Bulls, [LA] Lakers, [Boston] Celtics and how they won it three or four times in a row and they call it a dynasty.
“I think they can call this a dynasty in football. It is something that is difficult to find the words to explain.
“It seems so easy to come here and to win it but it’s so much hard work that we put in day-in, day-out.
“We are very happy and we need to enjoy this. I don’t think anyone will repeat this.”

Next year’s Champions League final is at Atletico Madrid’s home stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano.
And having won the competition in four of the last five years, Modric is targeting yet another showpiece occasion to look forward to.
“Of course, we are playing [the final is being held] in Madrid next year,” the 32-year-old continued.
“We will have to enjoy this and then we will prepare for next season. It would be nice to play it again but we’ll see. We must not think about other things.”
