Charlie van Straubenzee raised a glass to 33-year-old and his stunning 36-year-old wife in a hilarious roast where he not only poked fun of the prince’s flame-coloured hair but also gave guests an insight into their time together at Ludgrove School in Berkshire.
Mr Van Straubenzee recounted that he arrived at the school aged eight to find the prince was their dormitory monitor, and a strict one at that.
Mr Van Straubenzee said: “All I wanted was a cuddle form my mummy.
“Instead, Harry nicked my teddy bear and chucked it out onto the roof.”
He added: “Ladies and gentlemen, I ask you, how can you put someone in charge of a dorm when that someone is worse behaved than the whole dorm combined?”
Mr Van Straubenzee, 30, referred to Harry as “our strawberry blonde prince” during the hilarious speech.
He said: “Let’s face it - Harry’s a ginger.
“He was in denial for years when he was young and used to hate other gingers.”

On a more serious note, van Straubenzee spoke of seeing his friend experience the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.
One guest said: “He described how awful it had been for Harry to go through everything and how he has come through it. He told Harry how happy his mother would have been that he has found love with Meghan and how excited she would be to see them starting their lives together as a married couple. Harry was pretty emotional at that point.”
Van Straubenzee then turned his praise to the “phenomenal Meghan,” thanking her for making his friend “so very happy.”
Soon after, it was Harry’s turn to take the mic and he was said to have led with a tribute to his dad, the Prince of Wales, thanking him for all the love he gives him and his brother.
He also thanked Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland for her “amazing daughter, my wife,” which a guest said had the whole room cheering.
Harry is said to have ended his speech by turning to the glowing Meghan and telling her she looked “simply stunning,” and that he felt “very, very lucky to have you by my side.”
The black-tie bash was hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House after the pair tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19.
