Keeping the local tax bill in check

As we round the corner into the new municipal tax season, everyone should take a look at the breakdown of the total package. At least 50 percent of the total tax due will be allocated to educational expenses and they are not cheap.
Danbury has an ever increasing pressure to up their school budget every year by millions of dollars and has done a good job of holding the line for the time being. It’s a tough subject, but it’s really time to have the discussion, at the family level, on how many extra students we need to add to the system on a yearly basis.
Family planning is important for the family and the community as a whole since we need to keep a check on costs more now than ever. Many in our community are on fixed budgets and have little extra to spend on taxes that can be managed simply by adding fewer students to the school system.
When the tax bills come, take a look at the breakdown and reflect on how we can easily put reverse cost pressure on the largest item in the package.
