Werribee stabbing: Man charged with woman's murder

Police have charged a man with the stabbing murder of a 69-year-old Werribee woman.

Jamie Willis appeared before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday afternoon charged with murdering Caroline Anne Willis in her home.

A crime scene was established at the Taworri Crescent house and on a section of the street after emergency services were called to the newly built Harpley Estate in Werribee’s south-west about 7.30am on Friday.

Homicide detectives and forensic police were called to the scene that morning and combed the house.

Police allege the murder took place on Thursday.

Willis was remanded in custody and is due to face court again on June 1.
