Two kids, father killed in road accident

A bike-borne family lost its two kids and the father while the mother suffered injuries in an accident on Narki –Kanjkiro Road near Kanjkiro more this morning. They were on their way to DVC Hospital, Bokaro Thermal, for getting polio drops for the children. Shankar Parjapati, the father, who was driving the motorbike, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, police sources said.                                                                                                                                         Police said the motorcycle, in which the ill–fated family belonging to Gowaldih village was travelling, crashed into a speeding coal heavy truck coming from the same direction at Kanjkiro more, a village located some 4 km away from Bokaro Thermal city, around 10:30 am. The deceased have been identified as Sailo Kumari (9 months) and Satayam (3) and their father namely Shankar Parjapati and his wife Sabita Parjapati sustained grievous injuries and her treatment is going on at Medanta hospital Ranchi.  The truck driver, however took under custody.

According to police reports on Friday morning Shankar Parjapati with his full family members including wife and two kids were riding a motorcycle along the NH –connecting Bokaro Thermal with Narki -on his way to DVC hospital for getting plus polio drop of their children. While negotiating a turn at Kanjkiro more, Shankar Parjapati suddenly found a truck coming from the Narki side. Both the Truck and Motor bike were moving at very fast speed.

Though the truck driver turned towards extreme right to avoid a collision, the biker could not steer clear of the vehicle and rammed into it. While both the  children who were sitting behind their father came under wheel and died on the spot, while Shankar Parjapati and his wife Sabita Parjapati who suffered multiple injuries, were rushed to first DVC hospital, Bokaro Thermal, where doctors termed them condition to be very critical. Later they have referred to Medanta hospital, Ranchi but Shankar succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. Tension prevailed in Kanjkiro village area after the locals of Kanjkiro and Gowaldih villages staged a road blockade on Narki-Bokaro Thermal road demanding compensation for the family of the kin who died here in a road accident on Friday.
