Richard Mouw betrays his ignorance of what took place on the border of Gaza and Israel to call those events "protests" ("Not time to bless embassy," May 19). Neither Gandhi nor Martin Luther King, Jr. would endorse activity where the "protesters" are instructed to carry guns and other weapons under their clothing and told to charge the border fence because the Israeli soldiers are fleeing.

The true label is human sacrifice, perpetrated by Hamas, since they'd been warned attempts to break through into Israel for the purpose of killing soldiers and civilians would be met with appropriate force. That the majority of victims were young makes Hamas' cynical sacrifice of its own people even more reprehensible.
