CBSE Class 12 results: Third in country, Chaahat focussed on all subjects

Jaipur’s Chaahat Bodhraj (17) secured third position in the Class 12 results announced by the CBSE on Saturday.

Chaahat, a student of Neerja Modi School, scored 497 out of 500. She shared the third rank with six other students in the county. She also emerged as topper in Rajasthan.

Thanking her teachers, friends and family for the success, Chaahat said, “I devoted equal time to each subject while studying. Some people think English is easy, but I worked equally hard for that as well.”

“Though luck does play a part as well, but ultimately your performance depends upon your hard work,” she added. Her teachers said Chaahat’s performance was consistent throughout the year.

A student of humanities, Chaahat wants to explore the field of design in the future. “I want to either pursue graphic design and animation, or communication design,” she said.

Elder sister my inspiration, says Akshat

Akshat Goyal (17) of India International School in Jaipur scored 98.8% in commerce stream, the highest in the city.

Akshat said he expected to score around 98 percent. “My elder sister Anusha was my inspiration. She was a school topper and I wanted to be like her and top my school. I managed that and more,” he said.

Akshat said he worked throughout the year to get this score. “I did not take any tuition or coaching. I studied myself throughout the year and worked hard. During the last days, I focused a bit more on English,” he said.

Fond of music, Goyal’s made sure his study breaks were fun. “I would play the synthesizer as I love it. I would also play chess, badminton and some games on my phone,” he said.

Like his father and elder sister, Akshat also wants to become a chartered accountant.

Social media didn’t distract me, says science topper

Siddhant Dhingra (17) of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School at C Scheme scored the highest 98.6% in science stream in Jaipur. He got a perfect score of 100 in Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

Dhingra said once classes got over in school, he prepared for the boards with another friend of his. “I did a lot of group study with my friend and found it to be very beneficial. We got to know the each other’s pitfalls and helped each other through it,” he said.

Dhingra said throughout his board exams, he was active on various social media platforms. “I was active on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. I never left them because ultimately you have to be balanced. I never stopped talking to people or chit-chatting with them on the phone. It helped me unwind,” he said.

Fond of chemistry, Dhingra plans to study the subject further and become a professor in the discipline.
