Real Madrid vs Liverpool leaked team news: Bold decisions made for Champions League final

GARETH BALE will reportedly start for Real Madrid this evening against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Real Madrid are attempting to win their third consecutive Champions League trophy in Kiev this evening with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds standing in their way.

Both managers have important decisions to make on their team selections and it seems Zinedine Zidane has made a bold call with Gareth Bale.

Spanish national newspapers Marca and AS, who both have close ties with Real, claim Bale will be in the starting XI.

The Welshman will form an attacking trident with Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco, meaning Karim Benzema will be on the bench.

Bale has been in and out of the side all season due to injuries and he was far from guaranteed to start ahead of Benzema this evening.

The forward has been in fine form of late though, scoring four goals in his last three appearances for Los Blancos.

Victory for Real would give Bale his fourth Champions League winner’s medal in only five seasons at the club.

Earlier this week, Wales boss Ryan Giggs urged Zidane to start the 28-year-old.

It’s huge, as a player you want to test yourself against the best and you want to win as many trophies as you can,” Giggs said.

“It will be amazing if Real Madrid do do it, that would be his fourth winner’s medal.

“It’s great for Gareth but also great for Wales as a country to have someone representing the country and someone who’s won so much.

“I think every time he’s involved, he makes the difference. He can do special things, he’s scored a lot of goals this year.

“And he’s just someone who is very hard to defend against because he can score all types of goals.

“But of course Real Madrid have got a lot of good players, they’ve got a lot of options.

“But from my point of view, Gareth would always be in my team.”
