Uttarakhand board exam results 2018: Girls emerge as toppers in Class 10, Class 12

Kajal Prajapati and Divyanshi Raj were the toppers of Class 10 and intermediate or Class 12 in the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) results declared on Saturday.

Kajal Prajapati and Divyanshi Raj on Saturday emerged as the toppers of the high school or and intermediate or respectively as the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) declared the results of the board examinations.

Prajapati, a student of Rana Pratap Inter College, scored 98.40% in Class 10 and Divyanshi Raj of SVMIC Government School in Jaspur aced the Class 12 board exams with 98.40%. Both are residents of US Nagar district.

“I am happy to score the highest percentage in the state. The fruits of my hard work just paid off,” Divyanshi said.

The pass percentage for both classes went up marginally. In Class 10, 74.57% students - including 80.22% girls and 68.96% boys - were declared successful. Last year, 73.67% students cleared the exam.

More than 146,160 students appeared for the exam and 109,006 cleared it.

In Class 12, 78.97% students passed the exam this year as compared to 78.89% last year. Among girls, 82.83% cleared it and 75.03% boys were declared successful.

There were 130,094 students who appeared in the Class 12 exams and of which 102,743 passed.

State school education minister Arvind Pandey, who released the results, congratulated students, parents and all the staff and teachers of the education board who helped in strengthening the pass percentage in the board exams.

“Every year, the results are getting better. To achieve this percentage, our students and their teachers have put great efforts and I congratulate all of them,” Pandey said.

The minister asked students who could not clear the exams to not lose hope and continue working hard.
