Drifting A Porsche 911 GT3 Touring On Track Looks Like Lots Of Fun

If you needed further proof that the best model Porsche is currently offering is none other than the 911 GT3 Touring, then you’re in the right place.

Based on the ever-brilliant GT3, the Touring Package edition is available with a six-speed manual transmission instead of the dual-clutch PDK and loses the giant rear wing-trademark of the standard GT3.

The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six remains unchanged, meaning it still produces 500 PS (493 HP) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft). Customers will have to accept the fact that their new GT3 Touring Package is slightly slower than the normal GT3, with a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph (316 km/h). It’s a tough world out there, even for Porsche owners.

The interior loses most of the GT3’s Alcantara trim and trades it for fine leather in areas like the steering wheel, gear lever, door panels and center console. The seats are partially dressed in leather while black aluminum detailing can be found in certain places.

It’s no wonder then that the 911 GT3 Touring Package is considered by many the perfect modern Porsche, as it combines that divine, naturally aspirated boxer with the chassis of a GT3, topping things up with a more road-friendly costume. The only other contemporary 911 that offers such thrills is the limited edition R – but that’s stupendously overpriced at a half million bucks or more in the “second hand” market.

Still unconvinced? In that case, you should check the video below, showing a black GT3 TP sliding around at the Losail circuit in Qatar during the night. Few things sound better, but we can’t name a single one at the moment.
