Ujjain: Thieves robbed employees of Bandhan (private) Bank, who were carrying a bag containing Rs 1.14 lakh at Rajaswa Colony at around 2 pm on Friday. The incident created panic and annoyance amongst residents of the colony.
Employee Anikesh Maheshwari and Nandini Shinde were carrying the cash meant for depositing in the bank, when four masked face persons coming from Desai Nagar stopped them near Rajaswa Colony park, and robbed them. They also took bank documents from Maheshwari and stabbed him. The other employee Shinde somehow succeeded in saving herself by hiding behind a parked car in the colony. According to bank employees, the amount was collected from account holders of the bank after opening their account.
Talking to Free Press, Madhav Nagar TI in-charge Gagan Singh Badal, said the miscreants were riding on two motorbikes and the victims were riding on a bike. The police registered a case against unidentified miscreants under Section 394 of IPC. The police are scrutinizing CCTV footages of the area mentioned by the employees to identify the thieves, he added.
