NDRF team to be deployed at Pkl RRC

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will remain permanently stationed at Panchkula as the Disaster Management Division, Union Ministry of Home Affairs has given its nod to set up a Regional Response Centre (RRC) there.

With this, the NDRF team would provide prompt emergency response in case of any disaster in the region, said an official spokesman.

The Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula and Director General of Police (DGP) has been directed to identify land measuring above two acres or 10,000 square feet of built up area at Panchkula to permanently station the team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in order to provide prompt emergency response in case of any disaster in the region, said he.

He said that the NDRF team consisting of gazetted officer, seven sub-ordinate officers and 40 other personnel would be stationed to provide emergency services. Apart from this, adequate space for parking of one light vehicle, one medium vehicle, one bus, one ambulance and one truck and storage of equipment would also be provided for the disaster control management operations, said the spokesman.

The Director General, National Disaster Response Force, New Delhi was requested to station a  team of 45 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel at Panchkula for which the consent was given  for  its deployment as a RRC, he added.
