Juniors Barbara DaCunha Silva of Durfee and Kathryn Sullivan of Somerset Berkley Regional both own No. 2 seeds to head Greater Fall River's contingent at the Eastern Massachusetts divisional track and field championships this weekend.

DaCunha Silva will compete in the Division 1 Championships on Sunday at Andover High School, where she will be seeded second in the shot put, thanks to a season best toss of 35 feet, 7 inches. She is also 20th in the javelin (91-9).

Sullivan, in Division 3 on Saturday at North Reading High School, is seeded second in the 100-meter hurdles with her school record 15.79 set in taking first place at the Sunset Invitational at Greater New Bedford Regional. She is also 15th in the long jump (16-3.5).

In all, 27 girls from Greater Fall River are registered for individual events at their respective Eastern Massachusetts championships, with five of those owning top 10 seeds. Four GFR relay teams have qualified, one in the top 10. Case High and Bishop Stang are competing in Division 4 at Ipswich High School, on Saturday.

The remaining top 10 qualifiers are Stang sophomore Amber Lattuca (400 meters, 5th, 59.80), SBR sophomore Kaylin Cunningham (javelin, 9th, 101-7) and SBR's 4x400 relay team of Julianna Richardson, Juleen Guirand, McKenzie Offley and Sullivan (9th, 4:19.55).

Case High sophomore Meredith Castro is set to compete in two individual events — the 100 meters (11th, 13.03) and triple jump (15th, 33-7). SBR junior Kathleen Martin (shot, 11th, 33-2.25; javelin, 19th, 93-3), SBR sophomore Ashley Macek (long jump, 22nd, 16-2.25; 100, 31st, 13.10), and SBR freshman Offley (200, 19th, 27.70; high jump, 22nd, 4-10) are also two-event qualifiers.
