Bhopal: Nominal relief from hot weather till May 28, heatwave conditions to continue

Bhopal: There was little bit relief from blistering heat on first day of Nau-Tapa as previously the day temperature was around 47 degree Celsius but on Friday, it was 45 degree Celsius. Most of the places recorded day temperature of 45 degree Celsius.

The cities which settled at 45 degree Celsius include Khajuraho, Hoshangabad, Damoh, Raisen, Nowgaon, Shajapur, Sheopurkalan, Umaria and Khargone. Weather attributed the relief to nominal change in wind pattern which has become northerly wind pattern.

However, heatwave conditions continued to prevail over many parts Madhya Pradesh . The temperatures across these regions settled well above the 45-degree mark. The reason for this rise in the temperatures can be attributed to the warm northwesterly winds blowing over the region from the hotter regions of Balochistan and Sindh wherein the peak temperature are already getting arrested near 47-degree Celsius.

Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 43.7 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4 degree Celsius. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of27.8 degree Celsius.

As per meteorological department, however, there was nominal relief from hot weather, until May 28, heatwave conditions would continue in some other districts of Madhya Pradesh. A change in the weather conditions can be expected around May 28 and this would be the time when pre-Monsoon activities would once again commence. Weather man expect the temperatures to start dropping around May 29 and heatwave would abate from many parts of these regions but may continue in West Madhya Pradesh.
