GHAZIABAD: A 17-year-old Class XII student has gone missing from his home in Lohia Nagar after failing in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam on Saturday. His father Piyush Goyal has lodged a missing person’s complaint about his son Arnab Goyal with Sihani Gate police station.

Talking to TOI, the boy’s father, a businessman, said, “Arnab was a student of science stream (physics, chemistry and math) at Sanskar School here. He went missing from home around 1 pm.”

Arnab had informed his younger sister Kriti Goyal, a Class X student, about the result and then left home. “We thought that he would return in some time, but when he did not return till evening, we went and lodged a complaint at the local police station,” said Goyal.

Arnab had torn his marksheet before leaving the home and the boy’s family is not sure about the subjects he failed in the exam.

Looking at the sensitivity of the matter, the police have launched a manhunt to trace the boy. The police have also taken the help of social media like Twitter to spread the information about the missing boy.

This year, the pass percentage of Class XII has improved to 83.01% from 82.02% last year.
