Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up a season-ending injury in the first leg against Roma and is heading out to Kiev with the other injured Liverpool players.
And speaking on Liverpool’s official Instagram account, the England international has opened up on how it feels to be missing the Champions League final.
“Obviously I’m absolutely devastated not to be involved in such a big game but at the same time really excited for the boys and for the club in what could be a very special day,” he said.
As Oxlade-Chamberlain got ready to fly out to Ukraine to join up with his team-mates, he rode past a group of Liverpool fans also making their way out to Eastern Europe.
And the Liverpool supporters were clearly overjoyed to see the midfielder as they raced to the shuttle bus windows cheering.
“It’s fair to say Liverpool fans are ready, we’re ready… we’ll see you in Kiev,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said.
