Kukde re-elected transport committee chief

Nagpur: BJP corporator Bunty Kukde has been re-elected as chairman of city transport committee for second consecutive term. He was elected unanimously as none from the opposition parties nominated its candidates for the election.
District collector Ashwin Mudgal conducted the elections at the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday. Kukde was the only to submit the nomination form. BJP corporators Archana Pathak and Vidya Madavi proposed Kukde’s nomination. Mudgal declared Kukde as elected unopposed.

The committee that looks after operation of city bus service — Aapli Bus — came into existence in 2013. There are 13 members in the committee of which standing committee chairman is ex-officio member.

Kukde is first time corporator from ward no. 26 in East Nagpur.
