BJP opposes proposed zonal system

Is Hyderabad a free zone? asks K Lakshman

BJP’s Telangana unit president K. Laxman has described the proposed zonal system for employees recruitment and transfers as a charade. The step is a short sighted policy by the TRS Government just as it had done for districts reorganisation to attain political goals rather than for any administrative convenience, he said.

Addressing mandal presidents of the party here, the BJP leader charged the Government with bringing the administration to a grinding halt with its whimsical policies without looking at the bigger picture. Strongly opposing the new zonal system, he demanded that the government hold discussions with the Opposition, students, unemployed youth, employees associations and others before fine tuning the policy.

He pointed out that despite the then N. T, Rama Rao Government bringing out the 610 GO, it did not provide the expected results due to tardy implementation and said the issue whether Hyderabad is an independent zone, free zone or part of the sixth zone has lacked clarity.

The very basis of the Telangana movement was about the denial of educational and job opportunities, hence it was imperative the solution should be tackling these issues rather than have political overtones, he added.
