WAYNESBORO - The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is investigating the break-in of a hair salon where electronics and a car were stolen.
The stolen car was later spotted in Verona, where the suspect fled on foot.
The sheriff's office said Studio 127, located on Pratt's Run outside of Waynesboro, was found burglarized Wednesday morning by an employee. It appears that a window screen was cut open and access was gained through an unlocked window, according to a report.
A computer and tablet were taken from the business, as was a 2014 Kia valued at $12,000. The keys to the car were left inside the business, authorities said.
On Wednesday, a friend of the hair salon's owner spotted the stolen car in Verona and confronted a man driving the vehicle. After being told authorities had been notified, the man abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
The sheriff's office said it has developed a suspect in the case, but said he remains at-large.
