Days after a farmer died while waiting in the scorching heat at a Mandi to sell his crop, another man has lost his life due to heat stroke at an agricultural market in Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, a 65-year-old farmer had died outside Lateri Mandi in Vidisha district on May 17.
According to Akodiya tehsildar Avnish Mishra, Mali had come to sell the gram crop of his father who is registered as a farmer with the Mandi.
The gates of the Mandi were closed as there were too many trucks offloading inside, Mishra said.
Mali got down from his vehicle and started carrying the sacks of gram inside on his back, but fell unconscious, the official said.
He was taken to a local hospital and then to a hospital at Shajapur where doctors declared him brought dead.
Autopsy report said he died of a heat stroke, Mishra said.
District collector Shrikant Banoth announced an aid of Rs four lakh for the family.
On May 17, Moolchand Maina, a farmer, died of heart attack outside Lateri Mandi in Vidisha after waiting for four days to sell his crop. As per the officials, there was a rush at the Mandi as too many farmers had arrived at the same time.
Opposition Congress had slammed the government over the incident.
