STAUNTON - Authorities arrested a man Thursday night after he allegedly injured a woman on the city's west end during an attack, according to the Staunton Police Department.
Police said the Staunton woman, 42, was hospitalized.
At about 6:30 p.m., officers were called to Peyton Street, where they found the woman bleeding from her shoulder and chest area, an arrest report said.
An investigation into the incident led police to Frank J. Casey, 52, of Staunton, who was arrested hours later.
Casey was charged with malicious wounding.
According to authorities, Casey and the beating victim know each other but the incident was not a domestic situation.
Casey is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
