‘Tasteless’ dinner: Youth kills father

In a shocking incident, a youth allegedly killed his 60-year-old father at Gandapada village under the Thelkoloi police limits in Sambalpur district on Wednesday night over a dispute between the two ensued after the youth complained of “tasteless” dinner prepared at home.

According to police sources, a heated exchange of words erupted between Sitaram Makar and his son Sanjeev as the former opposed the latter’s act of creating a ruckus in the house alleging that the cooked dinner was tasteless.Moments later, Sanjeev stabbed his father with a knife while he was sleeping in a room.

Hearing screams of Sitaram, the family members rushed to the room but failed to save him as he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Police arrested Sanjeev and started investigation into the incident. Sitaram’s body was seized and sent for postmortem.
