Composting basics to be covered at Geauga County event

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District, the Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste District, and the Middlefield Library invite the public to a free and informative program on the basics of composting.

“Composting 101” will take place at 7 p.m., June 5, at the Middlefield Library, 16167 E High St. Attendees can learn composting basics and benefits, different composting methods, and how to avoid common composting problems, according to a news release.

Participants will receive a kitchen compost pail while supplies last. To register, contact the library at 440-632-1961 or register online at divi.geaugalibrary.net.

Those interested in buying a wishing well compost bin can pick up pre-purchased ones at the workshop by mailing a check in the amount of $35 made payable to Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste District, 5138 Enterprise Blvd. Warren, Ohio 44481. Payment must be received by June 1 in order to be available for pickup at the event.
