A civilian was killed by armed men at Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday morning. Police have blamed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives, including local militant Saleem Parrey, for the incident.

The body of the victim, identified as Mohd Yaqoob Wagay, was found with its throat slit near his residence in Gunda Preng village. He was a butcher by profession.

“An investigation indicated the complicity of local LeT terrorist Saleem Parrey in the killing,” a police spokesperson said.

Another civilian from Hajin – Hilal Ahmad Parrey – was abducted and killed by alleged militants last week. His bound body was later recovered from a nearby nursery.
