Your editorial of May 24, 2018, is just so poorly written that I am amazed you published it.
You intermix illegal immigrants with legal immigrants as if they are the same.
The fact that a naturalized immigrant and U.S. citizen was killed in Afghanistan in 2007 degrades his death by associating his status will illegal immigrants.
There have been as you say 900 DREAMers that have joined the military. This is out of a total of some say 3-plus million or so in our country, which represents roughly 0.03 percent that have joined the military.
Big deal!
Right now the active duty population is equal to about 0.4 percent of our population and roughly 7.3 percent of the population have served. So your editorial should really ask how come these dreamers don't serve?
Rather than the headline "Immigrants bravely serve this country" it should state "Why don't illegal immigrants serve this country?"
Is this the best garbage your editors can put out?
