A day after taking charge, Kumaraswamy calls on seers

A day after taking over as the Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy continued his visits to religious institutions, alongside holding meetings with Janata Dal (Secular) leaders to discuss the future course of governance.

On Thursday, he started his meeting with seers, whom he termed “guides to the government”. He met Pattanayakanahalli Nanjavadhuta Swami and later seer of Adichunchangiri Mutt Nirmalananda Swami on the mutt premises in Bengaluru. He then visited Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru where he met Shivakumara Swami. The Chief Minister spent about half an hour with the seer.

Earlier, Mr. Kumaraswamy, after meeting his father and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo, H.D. Deve Gowda, said he was meeting his father for a discussion for the first time after taking oath. “We discussed wide-ranging issues. He advised me about the current political developments, giving a stable government, and protection of people’s interest.”

To meet public at Krishna

In the light of possible inconvenience to those living in J.P. Nagar locality as hundreds of supporters of Mr. Kumaraswamy would be thronging his residence there to meet him, the Chief Minister’s office has announced that the Chief Minister would meet the public and other dignitaries at Krishna, his home office, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. whenever he is in Bengaluru.
