The 33-year-old produced a sensational performance on both ends of the court to drive the Rockets to an impressive win, scoring 20 points alongside six assists.
But Houston’s joy at clinching the chance to eliminate defending champions Golden State was marred by Paul limping out of the fixture with only seconds left on the clock.
The former Clippers man appeared to tweak a hamstring while attempting an awkward layup and looked visibly uncomfortable before trudging toward the locker room.

Today, Rockets medical staff confirmed Paul would miss tomorrow night’s Game 6 at the Oracle Arena in San Francisco, causing concern among fans as to how serious the hamstring strain is.
Thankfully the news looks good, as local reporter Ben DuBose managed to capture a short video of Paul arriving at the Rockets’ training facility this morning seeming in good spirits.
The veteran point guard appears to walk without a limp as he smiles and cracks jokes with his team-mates in the short clip, which was posted on Twitter.

“He's gonna be ready for Game 7,” one fan wrote online.
“But I'm hoping that Harden makes a legendary game and CP can rest a little bit more.”
Another wrote: “Put that man in a hyperbaric chamber ASAP.”
Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni today confirmed Paul would make the trip to San Francisco with the team, regardless of his injury status.
