Zenvo TSR-S Looks Ridiculous On Track With ‘Active Aero’

Zenvo premiered the road-going TSR-S at March’s Geneva Motor Show and with it, launched a new type of rear wing unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Dubbed the Centripetal Wing, the carbon fiber monstrosity moves whenever the steering wheel is turned. For example, when the hypercar is being steered around a right-hand bend, the wing aggressively slants to the left. It looks absolutely stupid and is nothing more than an unrefined take on Lamborghini’s ALA system on the Huracan Performante.

Zenvo claims that the moveable rear wing creates an inward force when in operation to increase tire grip and cornering stability. We’re not entirely convinced of its effectiveness and aren’t afraid to call it one of the stupidest aerodynamic aids we’ve ever seen.

Nonetheless, the TSR-S does have some things going for it, including an exterior design which still looks fresh despite being a decade old since premiering on the original ST1.

Powering the car is a 5.8-liter flat-plane V8 with two superchargers and a potent 1177 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through the wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission, allowing the TSR-S to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds and 124 mph (200 km/h) in 6.8 seconds.
