A Union Pacific train sits stalled at the railroad crossing at East Lincoln Highway and Fourth Street in DeKalb.

DeKALB – According to a post from the DeKalb Police Department's Facebook page, the train that stalled and snarled traffic for more than seven hours has moved along, and all the railroad crossings are now open.

A broke-down locomotive caused a Union Pacific train to be stalled around 6 a.m., according to DeKalb Public Works Director Tim Holdeman. He said a operator told him about 9:45 a.m. that a new locomotive was on its way to pull the train down the line.

Pearl Street, Peace Road and Annie Glidden Road served as detours in the meantime.
