Car seized in connection to suspected murder of Brisbane man

A car believed to be linked to the suspected murder of Brisbane man Sam Price-Purcell has been seized by police.

Mr Price-Purcell went missing from the Mitchelton area on February 16, 2015.

The then-25-year-old was seen getting into a bright yellow 2010 Holden Commodore SS sedan and was understood to have been travelling to the Toowoomba area.

He has not been seen since.

On Friday police confirmed they had executed a search warrant the previous day and seized a yellow 2010 Holden Commodore SS sedan.

The car was then the subject of forensic testing at Toowoomba Police Station and several samples had been submitted for further analysis.

Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said the Homicide Investigation Unit believed the car was used by several people connected to Mr Price-Purcell’s murder, but its current owner had no involvement or links to the investigation.

“We are encouraged by the preliminary results of forensic testing carried out yesterday,” he said.

“The investigation continues to progress and I’m confident of a successful resolution in the near future.”

Detective Inspector Hansen appealed for anyone with information or associated with the murder to come forward.
