The Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra, Rhode Island's premier community-based orchestra, will present its season finale on Sunday, June 10, at 1 p.m.in the McVinney Auditorium, 43 Dave Gavitt Way, Providence. Katherine Winterstein, violinist, will join NaBSco in performing Dmitri Shostakovich's stunning and often volatile Violin Concerto No. 1. Shostakovich is one of Russia's most brilliant composers of the 20th century. Winterstein is assistant concert master of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. She also performs with the Aurea Ensemble, is co-concertmaster of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, and concert master of the Vermont Symphony. Also featured on the program is Robert Schumann's highly emotional Symphony No. 2. Join NaBSco and music director, Benjamin Vickers for an exciting afternoon of orchestral music.
