Former first lady Michelle Obama announced the title of her hotly anticipated first memoir, "Becoming,'" and its Nov. 13 release date. Time

Michelle Obama on Thursday revealed the jacket for her forthcoming memoir, Becoming, which publisher Crown will release on Nov. 13.

The former first lady flashes a big smile in the cover photo, taken earlier this year in Washington by portrait photographer Miller Mobley. (Styling was provided by Meredith Koop, Carl Ray and Yene Damtew.)

Obama posted the jacket on her Instagram account, writing: “I’m thrilled to share with all of you the cover for BECOMING. The process of writing this book has been so personally meaningful and illuminating for me. As I prepare to share BECOMING this fall, I hope you’ll also think about your own story, and trust that it will help you become whoever you aspire to be. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something to own.”

In a news release, Crown said Obama will go on a U.S. and international tour when her book is released, with details to come.

Obama’s memoir will cover her life “from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address,” the publisher says.

In a tweet last February, Obama said writing Becoming has been "a deeply personal experience."

In February 2017, the former first lady and former President Barack Obama signed a joint deal for separate memoirs with publishing giant Penguin Random House, reportedly worth more than $60 million.

And this week, the former first couple inked a deal with Netflix to produce series and films.
