Builder surrenders, released on bail

Vadodara: Nilesh Gandhi, director of city-based Cube Construction Engineering, who was granted anticipatory bail by sessions court here in connection with abetment of suicide case of civil contractor Alpesh Thakkar, turned himself in at Vadodara taluka police station on Thursday.
Gandhi, who is one of the 12 accused in the case, was arrested and released after questioning on a bond of Rs 50,000 by cops. Police sources said that he was asked about the allegation that he money to him.

Gandhi told police that when Thakkar had produced a bill of over Rs two lakh, he had paid him Rs 1.9 lakh after deducting TDS. Some months after the payment, he had even cancelled the work order since the construction quality was poor, he told the cops. tnn
