Six students want exam conducted afresh because of technical problems

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) to consider establishing a forum to address the complaints of students about the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), 2018.

A Vacation Bench of Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and Navin Sinha said a “wholesome solution” was necessary to remove the alleged inconsistencies in the test for admission to national law schools.

The Bench said it would continue hearing the case on Friday and asked the High Courts not to entertain any fresh petition on the issue.

The High Courts of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bombay, Punjab and Haryana and Rajasthan are seized of petitions challenging the test.

The NUALS conducted the CLAT on May 13, with the aid of the private firm M/s Sify Technologies Ltd.

The results are expected to be declared on May 31.
