VARANASI: A commando of CRPF from Jaunpur district Rajesh Kumar was killed in the blast of a pressure bomb planted by Maoist in Sukma district of Chhattishgarh on Thursday. A pall of gloom descended over his native village Kariaon in Meerganj area of Jaunpur district after the news of his death received.
Rajesh was a sub-Inspector of the 206th battalion of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), a specialised unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

According to reports, the blast occurred around 7.45 am in a forest near Puswada village when a road opening party was out on patrolling. He came in contact with a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoists. He was brought to field hospital of the CRPF in Chintagufa where he succumbed to injuries.

Recently two jawans of Chaatishgarh Armed Force (CAF) Ravinath Patel from village Dallupur in Badagon of Varanasi and Arjun Rajbhar from Baraipara in Sadiabad area of Ghazipur district were killed in a powerful IED blast by Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on May 20.
