Mercedes-AMG E63 S Estate Goes From Super To Hyper With 712 PS

Having 612 PS (604 HP / 450 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque should be enough for most Mercedes-AMG E63 S Estate owners.

After all, in stock form, the executive wagon takes as little as 3.5 seconds to go from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) and maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph) in EU-spec.

Still, why settle for less when you can have more? This must be what Wheelsandmore thought when they came up with a few mods for the E63 S Estate. The most significant one is a tuning box, which costs €3,200 ($3,763) in Germany and will bump the power of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 to 712 PS (702 HP / 524 kW) and 965 Nm (712 lb-ft) of torque.

With this upgrade installed, the super estate’s 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint drops by a few tenths of a second, getting perilously close to proper supercars.

There are two lesser versions of the so-called ‘tuning box’. When selected, these allow the powertrain to produce 650 PS (641 HP / 478 kW) and 920 Nm (679 lb-ft) of torque, and 680 PS (670 HP / 500 kW) and 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) of torque, respectively. Besides the extra muscle, upgrading the ECU also gets rid of the speed limiter and allows the Merc to hit its true max speed, although the tuner hasn’t released any numbers yet.

Wheelsandmore have covered the ‘wheels’ part, too, and this E63 S Estate sits on 10×21-inch front and 11×21-inch rear F.I.W.E. rims shod with 265/30 and 295/25 Michelin tires. Said to provide “a perfect match with the modified wheel-tire combination” is the standard air suspension, which was height adjusted by using adjustable coupling bars.
