England vs Pakistan, 1st Test, Day 1, Lord’s, live cricket score: ENG opt to bat

Two years on from their pulsating four-match Test series, which ended in a 2-2 draw, both England and Pakistan will once again be locking horns in a two-Test series, the first one of which begins at Lord’s on Thursday. England have won the toss and opted to bat first. Sarfraz Ahmed-led Pakistan come into the match having won their one-off Test against Ireland last week while most of the England cricketers have been preparing themselves for the Test and the busy summer on the county circuit. Pakistan will be looking to win their first Test series in England since 1996, while Joe Root’s England will be looking to carry on with their impressive record at home.
