The Wing on this 1,200-HP Supercar is Absolutely Wild

We’ve seen and heard about the Centripetal Wing on the Zenvo TSR-S, but seeing it in action shows just how crazy it really is.

The Zenvo TSR-S was unveiled earlier this year at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show as a 1,177-horsepower street legal version of the Zenvo TSR. Powered by a 5.8-liter V8 engine with a pair of superchargers, one of main highlights of the TSR-S is the complex rear spoiler that claims to help the car generate more than three times as much downforce as the TS1 GT. With two rotational axes, the Centripetal Wing can function as both an air break and a cornering stabilizer.

At the car’s debut, the company’s founder and chief technical officer did his best trying to explain how the spoiler functioned. “Whereas most supercars only achieve optimum downforce in cornering at a certain speed, the multi-rotational function of the wing distributes downforce in an innovative way to deliver the optimum amount of cornering grip at any speed. Whilst lifting to boost downforce, the wing also tilts while cornering – for example, lifting the left side of the wing when cornering left and vice versa, to propel the car to the inside of the corner, ensuring exceptional stability and grip.”

But now a video has surfaced showing the Zenvo TSR-S making some laps on the track, revealing just how the Centripetal Wing works — and it’s wild seeing such a huge spoiler move so elegantly with the car. See it for yourself in the video above.
