‘Work on Yadadri temple has picked up pace’

Endowments Minister reviews progress of renovation work

Going by the fast pace of renovation work of Sri Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy temple on Yadagirigutta, the temple would take a full shape by Dasara in September, Minister for Endowments A. Indrakaran Reddy said.

“The pace of work is satisfactory and as desired. We are sure the main temple with the surrounding walls will be ready by September,” he said.

Work on a temple on such a massive scale is recorded only in history, in 2018 such a project has been made possible by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and this surely will go down in history, he added.

Reviewing the status of work with engineers, District Collector Anita Ramchandran and others here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy observed that the work had gained sufficient pace.

“Telangana’s Tirupati, the renovated Yadadri temple, will be a gift to the people here,” he said. The Dakshina Gopuram work is to be taken up, and construction of the temple retaining wall, gopurams and Shivalayam should be completed by July, he directed the officials.

Expressing satisfaction with the ongoing construction of the queue complexes and the sanctum sanctorum, Mr. Reddy assured officials that there was no dearth of funds, or pressure of any sort on the officials, and hence time-targeted work was a priority.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had many ideas on features of the temple and would fix a timeline on completion and inaugural of various services soon. Officials of the Yadadri Temple Development Authority, engineers, and temple architects were present.
