Khordha AE, Bhadrak forest officer held

Assistant Engineer Suresh Chandra Acharya of Begunia Block, Khordha, was arrested in a bribery case on Tuesday. He was demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 from complainant Sadashiba Sundaray of Balibereni village, Begunia, for taking the measurements of constructed boundary wall of Gadamanitiri Gram Panchayat Office executed by Sundaray. The trap was laid at Acharya’s office room. His residential house located at Begunia was searched. In yet another bribery case, the Vigilance police arrested Forest Range Officer, Bhadrak Wild Life Range under Chandbali Wild Life Division Pafulla Kumar Sahoo. He was caught red handed while taking Rs 9,500 from Jayantilal Patel, cousin brother of Jethalal Patel, proprietor ‘Ashapura Timber Depots’, Salandi By-Pass, Bhadrak. Sahoo was trapped at his office. Later his office room and residential quarter at Bhadrak, besides residential house at Bhubaneswar were searched.
